Once Upon a Symphony

Chicago Symphony Orchestra

cso121103_269

Last weekend my parents + god-parents took me to the Symphony in Chicago! They had a special program going on, designed for young children ages 3 to 5 – featuring a small group of CSO musicians and a master storyteller who created interactive experiences that introduced us young ones to the world of music.

We visited the “The Three Little Pigs” program which was so much fun! They even had pre-concert activities (45 minutes before the performance) that prepared us to take part in the interactive portions of the performance and plant seeds for strong memories, of course!

The performance itself was great! My imagination was truly inspired by their vivid storytelling and let me tell you: It was so vivid that I got OH-SO scared of the wolf! Yes, when the bad wolf started playing his tuba well…, I started crying. I know, I know…silly!

After the performance, though we got to meet the musicians and the storyteller before heading home.

What an AWESOME day!

Peek-A-Zoo Underwater

Happy Wednesday!

photo

Today I would like to introduce to you ‘Peek-a-Zoo Underwater: Toddler Peekaboo in an Ocean Aquarium’ which is an app that you can download for only $2.99 on ITunes! I LOVE this app! It introduces us (toddlers, duh!) to the underwater world (so, I can further explore my fascination with the underwater world!) and guess what?! It’s multilingual! You can learn animal names in French, Spanish, Italian, German and English (I’m learning German).

Open iTunes to buy and download apps here.

Bass Pro Next Generation Fishing Event

Well, hello there, Monday!

photo

I cannot believe that the weekend is already over…I had so much fun! My parents + god-parents took me to Bass Pro Shop where they held a special fishing event yesterday! They had a catch and release pond where you could practice your fishing skills (über-fun!), a free kids’ fishing workshop (I won a hat and cool sunglasses, see picture!), and I got free photos (fishing certificate) and a free kids’ fishing tackle box!

I was beyond happy but it didn’t end here, of course! Afterwards my god-parents decided to take me and my parents to the Rainforest Café and I LOVED it! More aquariums + wildlife! Woo-hoo! I couldn’t have been more excited!

This being said…I’m grateful for my family who truly take the time to make my weekend(s) AWESOME!

I Love You, Mommy, Daddy, Bubbe and Opa!

12 Amazing Capsules Farm Animals

Just place in warm water & watch!

photo

Yesterday my dad surprised me with 12 Amazing Capsules Farm Animals (which he got for just $1 at Jewel Osco)! By now you probably know how obsessed I am with animals –  so, this present was spot on!

How it works

You drop the capsules in warm water (adult supervision with warm/hot water) and watch as the capsule ‘creatures’ begin to grow and take shape! In just a few minutes my animals already started to appear!

It’s a lot of fun and the perfect surprise for your children!

Choco Treasure Egg

Happy Monday!

Did I mention to you that I AM obsessed with Choco Treasure Eggs? I’ve been watching YouTube videos of toddlers unwrapping either Kinder Surprise Eggs and/or the US version called Choco Treasure Eggs, and now it’s finally my turn to unwrap them (thanks to a friend of my mom’s and my god-parents who bought Choco Treasure Eggs for me)!

And as any good parent, my mommy and daddy captured this precious moment of me unwrapping my VERY first Choco Treasure Egg!

PS: Choco Treasure Eggs are chocolate eggs with a toy surprise inside. First, you unwrap your chocolate. The chocolate falls away from the plastic capsule easily – which means that you can start enjoying the delicious milk chocolate as you go, i.e. unwrap! Yet the ultimate experience is opening the capsule to discover what’s inside! Each capsule holds a different toy, puzzle, or stickers which I all diligently collect!

Enjoy!

Children & Sleep

ZZZzzzz!

photo

Nap. It’s a small word, but for most parents a hugely important one.

For instance, my parents like to get organized and clean the house while I take my naps. I usually take a nap for about 2hrs – enough time to for them to clean and cook. But it’s not just ‘beneficial’ for my parents, but more importantly for M E, of course! It is a crucial physical and mental development, and naps certainly provide me with my much-needed downtime for growth and rejuvenation!

Currently I’m down to one nap a day. Tots like me usually require 0 to 13 hours of sleep, including an afternoon nap of 1 to 3 hours.

This being said: I simply L O V E naps! Do you?

Newborn Refuses To Leave Mother

This will melt your heart!

This video captured the rare moment/instant connection between a mother and her newborn child.

The baby was born via C-section, and as the nurse held the newborn to the mother’s head for their first meeting, the baby let out a scream and held on to the mother’s head — refusing to be separated.

And this my friends, is L O V E.

Happy Wednesday!
