Today I would like to share with you “How To Spend More Quality Time With Your Child”. We live in a society where it’s really easy to get ‘burned out’. Most parents are exhausted from the week after school activities, dinner, homework, bath time, bedtime. All on top of your own job (or jobs) and other realities of adulthood.
However, I’m telling you stop worrying about how many minutes you can spend with your children each day – but instead – I want you to focus on turning those minutes into memorable moments. Parents often compensate for having such a small quantity of time by scheduling “quality time.” Two hours at the nature preserve. An afternoon at the movies. Dinner at a restaurant. But the truth is that quality time may occur when you least expect it — yes, at the nature preserve, but also in the car on the way home from work.
This being said: You can ALWAYS find time to make time precious.
I cannot believe that the weekend is already over…I had so much fun! My parents + god-parents took me to Bass Pro Shop where they held a special fishing event yesterday! They had a catch and release pond where you could practice your fishing skills (über-fun!), a free kids’ fishing workshop (I won a hat and cool sunglasses, see picture!), and I got free photos (fishing certificate) and a free kids’ fishing tackle box!
I was beyond happy but it didn’t end here, of course! Afterwards my god-parents decided to take me and my parents to the Rainforest Café and I LOVED it! More aquariums + wildlife! Woo-hoo! I couldn’t have been more excited!
This being said…I’m grateful for my family who truly take the time to make my weekend(s) AWESOME!
Today I would like to share one of my favorite books with you! It’s called Beach Day by Karen Roosa (Author) & Maggie Smith (Illustrator).
I simply love this book because it reminds me of our recent trip to Aruba, and because it features two dogs in the book that remind me of my own puppies, Cali and Mylo.
But more importantly the language and pictures are OH-SO charming! It’s portrays a happy family ready to have some fun in the sun! Further, the verses are buoyant enough for reading and/or singing it aloud, as well!
Hence if you’re looking for a captivating introduction to the beach for young children – this book would be the ultimate gift for lovers of any age!
My daddy is a fantastic cook and I’m following his footsteps!
Today I decided to make him a special breakfast: A plate consisting of corn, a slice of bagel and one strawberry. I know it seems a bit odd for grown-ups, but not so much for tots like me! I love being creative and that includes experiencing with food!
I’m well aware that I have lots to learn to be just as great of a cook as daddy, but don’t you agree that I’m at least on the right track?!
PS: I love you, daddy (or as I pronounce it: I lah you, daddy)!
I’m speechless to say the least…Thank you, my dear readers for your continued love and support!
Back in June of 2013 my mom and I thought it’ll be great to start our own blog (clearly my mom’s the ghost writer!) which serves as a diary as well. It captures our adventures, travels, and more importantly it follows my growth spurt!
Don’t you agree that I’ve changed from last summer until now?
Also, please let me know which post you enjoyed the most!
Family truly is a gift. Often times we take them for granted, but no matter how bad things get, no matter how wrong things go, family will always be there for you. So, treasure family always, and don’t take them for granted, but instead praise God for this gift! Because it really is a gift from our heavenly father.
You have no idea how cold it has been in Chicagoland!
My outdoor fun has rather been limited due to Polar Vortex (I’m not fond of you one bit – so stop it already!). Just when I thought it was safe to venture outside again, another wide swath of bitter cold air began to sweep us with thrusting temperatures to near zero degrees, ouch!
I miss those days were my family and I were able to go on a nice stroll together (i.e. to a forest preserve) where a hot chocolate from Starbucks would keep us warm while enjoying the brisk (NOT FREEZING!) air.
