How To Spend More Quality Time With Your Child

Happy Friday!

photo

Today I would like to share with you “How To Spend More Quality Time With Your Child”. We live in a society where it’s really easy to get ‘burned out’. Most parents are exhausted from the week after school activities, dinner, homework, bath time, bedtime. All on top of your own job (or jobs) and other realities of adulthood.

However, I’m telling you stop worrying about how many minutes you can spend with your children each day – but instead – I want you to focus on turning those minutes into memorable moments. Parents often compensate for having such a small quantity of time by scheduling “quality time.” Two hours at the nature preserve. An afternoon at the movies. Dinner at a restaurant. But the truth is that quality time may occur when you least expect it — yes, at the nature preserve, but also in the car on the way home from work.

This being said: You can ALWAYS find time to make time precious.

Have a great weekend!

Book Review: ‘Beach Day’ By Karen Roosa

Book Review

Image

Today I would like to share one of my favorite books with you! It’s called Beach Day by Karen Roosa (Author) & Maggie Smith (Illustrator).

I simply love this book because it reminds me of our recent trip to Aruba, and because it features two dogs in the book that remind me of my own puppies, Cali and Mylo.

But more importantly the language and pictures are OH-SO charming! It’s portrays a happy family ready to have some fun in the sun! Further, the verses are buoyant enough for reading and/or singing it aloud, as well!

Hence if you’re looking for a captivating introduction to the beach for young children – this book would be the ultimate gift for lovers of any age!

Making The Most of Chicago’s Arctic Winter

Honey, it’s cold outside!

photo

It seems that us, Chicagoans, won’t get rid of winter any time soon! Our temperatures have dropped again (our high is 3 degrees Fahrenheit today!) and more snow is in our forecast!

So, if you’re having similar problems…please, read on because I’m giving you tips & tricks on “How to Make the Most of Winter”.

Take Your Kids Sledding.

Snow days don’t have to be boring! Take your kids sledding – I bet they’ll have tons of fun!

Build A Snowman.

The easiest way to kick boredom in the butt! Get bundled up and build a snowman together!

Visit An Indoor Swim Park.

Freezing outside? Miss the summer?! Take your family to an indoor swim park! We have one close to our house called Keylime Cove Resort. It’s the place to pretend we’re somewhere warm and have water fun!

Visit Your Local Children’s Museum.

Nothing beats a visit to a Children’s Museum. I always have lots of fun because it’s educational and it gives me a chance to interact with other children too! My favorite is Kohl’s Children Museum in Glenview. Check out their website here.

How do you beat the winter?

Chiberia Returns Once More

Happy Thursday, friends!

photo

The weekend is almost here and guess what?!

We’re enjoying 40 (+) degree weather right now – yet it won’t last long, though! It looks like ‘Chiberia’ returns once more with 20 degree weather by the end of this week. So, we’ll have limited options (again!) of what we can do during these extreme cold temps! We don’t like to spend all day inside the house, so we usually look of fun ways to make dull home moments exciting by visiting our local library, for instance, to enjoy indoor fun somewhere else besides home!

What are your tips and tricks to tackle cold weather with your toddler(s)?

Thinking of you, summer!

I don’t know how you feel but I’m ready for summer! I want ‘Chiberia’ to return to Chi City again – with heat waves close to 90 degrees in the midst of summer. So, let’s hurry up, please!

Seriously, I cannot wait for you, YES, YOU, S U M M E R to get here!

Are you with me?!

PS: The snowman is me.

10,000 Visitors – Thank You!

Wow!

10kballoonslg

I’m speechless to say the least…Thank you, my dear readers for your continued love and support!

Back in June of 2013 my mom and I thought it’ll be great to start our own blog (clearly my mom’s the ghost writer!) which serves as a diary as well. It captures our adventures, travels, and more importantly it follows my growth spurt!

Don’t you agree that I’ve changed from last summer until now?

Also, please let me know which post you enjoyed the most!

I’d love to hear from you!

Children’s Laughter

Live & laugh!

photo

What makes you truly happy?

I bet it’s listening to your children’s laughter, isn’t it? I know it’s true for my parents. Mommy and daddy have told me that it makes them really happy seeing me happy.

It simply never fails when I laugh heartily. My parents’ faces turn into those joyful chirpy faces which can only be defined as love.

So, take some time today and laugh with your children. It has been said that ‘laughter nurtures your soul’.
